Thankfully, the weather cooperated for the second, and final, day of Lazy Daze in Downtown Cary. Enjoy some photos from the day’s festivities.
Last night, the Diamante Arts & Cultural Center welcomed the public to Afrolatinidad: An Art Exhibition with artists Jose Manuel Cruz and Miguel Brown. The exhibit was the first of four events, over the next month, celebrating Afrolatinidad.
Having a puppy is a special, but usually rare event in most people’s lives and because of that, it is easy to forget how much work they can be. Puppies conjure a unique mixture of emotions that range from total delight to abject exasperation, all while simply being themselves. I’ve had the privilege to work with numerous families and their puppies, and over time, I’ve noticed a trend in common questions or concerns when people call me for help. Here are the top 4.
Growing up, I always loved staying in hotels when going on vacation. I enjoyed the novelty of visiting new places and any change of scenery I could experience. About a decade ago, I began to stay in Airbnbs instead of hotels thanks to the privacy and one-of-a-kind aspect they offer. Eventually, I became interested in hosting my own Airbnbs, mainly because I love to decorate and provide great experiences for people. In 2019, I became a realtor and took a course that taught me how to become a short-term rental host.
If you look up the word “dogged”…you will see its very definition is “Unrelenting Persistence.” Some of you are undoubtedly saying with a sigh… “Yep, that is my dog”. Wearing the white coat, gives me an opportunity to share my story with other women, and young girls, encouraging them to chase their dreams.
Last night, we went out to see our buddy Jason Adamo play a killer set with his band, at the Lincoln Theatre in Downtown Raleigh. They played several of his original tracks, along with a few covers that set the stage for The Breakfast Club to come out and give the crowd a blast from the past.
Joe and Courtney treated their guests to a wonderful ceremony and reception, at The Pavilion at Carriage Farm, this past weekend. Take a look through some of the highlights.
Working from a theme of simple elegance, the bride dressed the wedding party in blue and gray, with decor featuring white on white, accented with splashes of green in the bouquets and various floral arrangements.
The other day, I was asked to share an unanticipated aspect of losing a parent, “something they never tell you.” The subject hit me odd at first. There’s no doubt that endless volumes have been written on losing a loved one. Most of what has been covered for millennia, is about dealing with the emotions of hurt, anger, sadness, fear, depression, anxiety - along with hope, love, and letting go.
Sunday night at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, eight artists came together for the North Carolina Songwriters in the Round, hosted by Jason Adamo. If you’ve never been to a songwriter’s round (it was our first), the format was pretty cool. Divided into two sets, with four artists in each one, the performers took turns playing their own music, beginning each song with a story that connected the audience with the inspiration and meaning.
